Punching cops and the iPhone

The iPhone, a great tool when you need to find a getaway route after random acts of violence. I’d have to say this was the funniest iPhone ad parody to yet. Watch it here.

Android, Programming & Me

There have been dozens of rumors on ‘the tubes’ about Google building their own gPhone after Apple’s iPhone popularity. The folks at Google then came on and denied the rumor (as you do) and went on to say they’re doing something related. So the clever guys at Google came up with Android;

It’s mostly Java-based programming and after watching this particular video demonstrating Android’s capabilities, I’m pretty interested.

The thing I’m really interested about is that the programming language is Java. I’m studying Java at school (although it has sunk in quite as painlessly as I had imagined) so with time, I hope to start writing programs for platforms such as Android. There’s also a fair bit of XML involved, which also stirs up warm feelings inside, as it’s one of the courses I’m attending this fall. The Android Software Development Kit might be an interesting download, as it supports the programming software Eclipse.

I admit I suffer from a rather severe case of “can’t-be-arsed-to-do-fuck-all“, which seems to be a growing problem among some of my friends too (I imagine it’s the depressing darkness and all that). With some more ‘burning the midnight oil’, I might have a shot at getting my first big application out. We’ll see.
