This is my personal online journal, or weblog of sorts. It’s sort of a melting pot of all kinds of things; ideas and stuff that just happens to me. There’s no real central theme or viewpoint that unifies this site, most I just talk about my love for computers and videogames.

I’ve been keeping a plethora of websites online for a multitude of years (I think I made my first site back in 1999) but this is the only one that’s online. This site has suffered several setbacks over the past 2 years it’s been online, and that’s the reason you won’t find any of my old posts here.

The Author

I’m Karri, and have been so for nearly 24 years. I was born in Helsinki, Finland and have lived here for a total of 17 years. The remaining seven I’ve spent living in London, England.

I’m currently working for a company called Cesim, designing Online Business Simulations. Amidst working, I’m (still) studying Computer Science at the Haaga-Helia University Of Applied Sciences, here in Helsinki — secretly I want to be an Industrial Designer.

My Other Life

I’m a geek. And proud of it. I play [a lot of] video games and am pretty much glued to my computer. I keep track of certain things I do; music, games etc.. Here’s a list of the service I update as frequently as possible;

Useless Information

  • As I live in Finland, the timestamps on the posts are +2h GMT.
  • This site looks best on anything other than Internet Explorer.
  • I’m enough of a geek to enjoy things like the Blogger Code 2.0; B5 D T+ K S F I+ O+ X– E- L C- Y1 R+ W- P++++ M1 N- H
  • I listen to a lot of music, mainly rock and thus I have a rather extensive CD-collection.
  • I’ve played the guitar for 8 years but I can only really play a few songs off by heart (… by the way, why is that?).
  • I consider the Internet to be one of mankind’s greatest achievements.
  • I read Ctrl+Alt+Del and VG Cats religiously. On a slightly different topic, I also buy and read Wallpaper*, and have done so for about 3 years now (ie. I have every magazine since December 2004).
  • Over the years I’ve developed a ‘healthy’ caffeine addiction, that I usually satisfy with good ol’ Coca-Cola. Black coffee does it for me too.
  • I am pretty much married to my laptop, a Macbook Pro. Contrary to popular belief I am not a Apple fanboy, although I do think my laptop is teh bestest.

A Colophon is: “An inscription placed usually at the end of a book, giving facts about its publication.” #

All you see is run on the delightfully user-friendly Wordpress, using a theme called Ninja-Monkeys, all held together with an array of plugins. Hosting is provided by the lovely people at Futuron Internet. Image editing is done mostly in Photoshop CS3, the code is man-handled with TextWrangler and the whole nine yards is uploaded for your viewing pleasure with Transmit; using nothing less than a Macbook Pro and Mac OS X.
