Rap music explained

I listen to a pretty modest amount of rap music, since I don’t really like it — the music is usually pretty shit and the lyrics never, ever make any sense. And the reasons for one needing to posess an absurd quantity of expensive automobiles and drink nothing but over-priced Champagne have not really been conveyed to me through the music. So if like me, you’d like to understand what Jay-Z and the rest of the boys are on about, I suggest you look here.

This site has rather ingeniously converted rap songs into easily understandable charts and graphs. Now you can finally understand the correlation between say, ‘money and problems’.

LastGraph 2.0

I talked about information graphics some time ago and mentioned a site that does super cool graphics using your Last.fm profile. The site, lastgraph.aeracode.org, was down for quite a long time due to heavy traffic from Digg, but now it’s back online. I love this site to bits since the graphs it renders are just absolutely amazing. Although I do play a lot of music, a big part of it doesn’t get registered at Last.fm since I use an mp3-player when I’m on the move (and it’s not an iPOD, so I can’t get it linked). I think LastGraph is a must for anyone who uses Last.fm. I might even take the SVG-file to an Art store and see if I can get it turned into a cool poster.
