Green Wing

A friend from work recommended this comedy series — Green Wing — which I had never heard of. Turns out I’ve been missing out on one of the best british comedy series since Rick Gervais’ The Office. [Although in all fairness, Green Wing did actually air a few years before The Office (2004-2006)]

Green Wing is a comedy series by the team of creators behind Smack The Pony. It takes place in a fictional teaching hospital, East Hampton Hospital Trust. Although the series is set in a hospital, there are in fact no medical storylines; the action is produced by a series of soap opera and Commedia dell’arte-style twists and turns in the personal lives of the characters. They live through a series of rather absurd sketch-like scenes connected by witticisms, or by sequences where the film is slowed down or sped up, which more often than not, makes the body language of the characters seem utterly silly. The episodes are twice as long as is usual for a British comedy series (60 minutes).

I very much urge you to get your paws on a copy of any one of the three seasons, they’re fantastic!

I heart Firefox

I just do. It’s the best. I switched over from Safari to Camino for some time but didn’t really like it that much. The Safari 3 beta was also pretty damn good but there were some weird fuckups with different sites that were minor but still irritating — for example the Rolling Archives on the front page here on Binary Euphoria. The text kept overlapping and made it hard to use.

So I updated Firefox to 2.0.0.9 and imported by toolbar bookmarks, now everything rocks. Just thought I’d share this with you :) If you haven’t already switched from whatever other browser you’re using, do it the hell now. I’ll guarantee you won’t regret it.

Get Firefox
This rather gorgeous girl compels you to switch over to Firefox :)

Here’s a funny fan-made Firefox ad just to wet your browser-changin’ appetite. The IE-guy cracks me up every time; “Wheee!”

Utterly hilarious. I posted this once before my SQL-database went tits up but I just had to repost it. (Here’s the original video)
